Arts Alliance Illinois, the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, and the Illinois Arts Council invite you to a conversation about the Chicago Cultural Plan with Rocco Landesman, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Intersections: Art & Public Agencies
Wednesday, July 18 | 9 to 11 am
Chicago Cultural Center
Claudia Cassidy Theater
77 East Randolph

With an eye toward the new Chicago Cultural Plan, we will explore how to infuse the arts across-the-board into public agencies and departments. Joining us will be:

  • Rocco Landesman, Chairman, National Endowment for the Arts
  • Gabe Klein, Commissioner, Chicago Department of Transportation
  • Joe Iacobucci, Manager of Strategic Planning and Policy, Chicago Transit Authority
  • Beth Swanson, Deputy Chief of Staff for Education, Office of Mayor Rahm Emanuel

Space is limited. Please RSVP to Sue Vopicka at the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events at sue.vopicka@cityofchicago.org.

Learn how key initiatives of the Chicago Cultural Plan can be supported by leveraging public agency funding in unexpected places. What role can artists play? How can government agencies impact and influence cultural policy and support the arts? What opportunities exist for collaboration?
