An important notice from the Illinois CPA Society: By the end of September, the Office of the Illinois Attorney General will begin posting on their web site the financial reports of public charities and private foundations. The reports include the AG990-IL, the IRS 990 or 990 PF, and the audit if required. The Attorney General's Office will begin by posting reports received after March 2004 and will eventually post all reports scanned after January 1, 2004. The Attorney General's Office has set up a system to block out private items such as signatures and social security numbers.
Documents that are attached to the Form AG990-IL will likely be posted online as well. Schedule B, the Schedule of Contributors submitted to the IRS with the Form 990, is not required by the Illinois Attorney General. If an organization submitted Schedule B to the Attorney General, the Schedule B as well as the donor information it contains would be available online. Similar precaution should be taken with audited financial statements. Information that is sensitive and not a required part of the audit, such as supplemental schedules that may contain confidential information, should not be included as an attachment to Form AG990-IL.

When the final version of Durham, North Carolina’s cultural master plan was unveiled Sept. 22, it presented a powerful argument for the arts as an engine for economic development.
According to the plan, Durham arts organizations and audiences add roughly $103 million annually to the local economy.
While the sum speaks to the size of the local arts community, Durham is just one of many cities nationwide trying to translate cultural capital into dividends for "closed-after-5" downtowns.

The important thing is to be prepared so critical data can be recovered and your organization can become operational as soon as possible. A disaster recovery plan is essential in these cases. http://techsoup.org/howto/articlepage.cfm?articleid=347&topicid=11
