40 North | 88 West Announces New Leadership Team
The Board of Directors of 40 North | 88 West - Champaign County's Arts, Culture and Entertainment Council - has announced the selection of two new directors to lead the organization. Megan Wolf joined 40 North November 7th, as Director of Development, while Steven Bentz assumed the role of Director of Operations on October 1st. The selection of Wolf and Bentz represents a new organizational structure for 40 North, with both directors to act in equal partnership to advance the goals of the Council. YouTube Debuts Nonprofit Program
YouTube's global platform enables nonprofits to deliver their message, showcase their impact and needs, and encourage supporters to take action. Nonprofit organizations (in the U.S. those with 501c3 tax filing status) that register for the program will receive a free nonprofit specific YouTube channel where they can upload footage of their work, public service announcements, calls to action and more. The channel will also allow them to collect donations with no processing costs using the newly launched Google Checkout for Non-Profits. The NEA Announces Big Read Grants
The Big Read is a national program to encourage literary reading and revitalize the role of literature in American culture. The Big Read is accepting applications from non-profit organizations to conduct month-long, community-wide reads between September 2008 and June 2009. The Business Committee for the Arts Seeks 2008 Nominations
The Business Committee for the Arts will soon seek nominations for the
2008 BCA Ten: Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America. The
national program recognizes the winners as models for other companies to follow. In 2007, BCA recognized a new annual summer jazz series in
Chicago supported by Boeing, arts-driven initiatives by Shell to help
rebuild New Orleans and surrounding areas, and community-based arts
