Do you feel the arts are a valuable part of the core curriculum? Are you frustrated because the arts have been reduced or eliminated in schools in your area? Would you like to do something because you feel the arts are losing ground in education, but you don’t know where to start? We can help! Illinois Creates, a statewide arts education initiative, is an easy way to get involved to make a difference.

By signing on to the Illinois Creates initiative, you will join with other concerned citizens who value arts education - including parents, educators, arts advocates, education and business leaders businesses and others —to advocate for equitable, standards-based arts instruction for all Illinois public school students.

As a coalition member, you will have different options as to how to participate. For example, you can coordinate a local task force in your community, participate in coordinated advocacy events and forums, attend local school board meetings, write a letter to the editor of your newspaper, or write or call your legislators – your level of involvement is up to you!

If you value arts education and would like to see it play a greater role in the core curriculum, please join this growing coalition now.
