Due to the COVID crisis, and to center our commitment to equity and access, Arts Alliance Illinois is offering pay-what-you-can membership for ALL Illinois creative individuals and organizations for the next year.

During this crisis, the Alliance has helped raise nearly $7 million for arts relief efforts centering equity, provided critical programs to help the sector understand policy changes in this new environment, preserved state funding for the arts community, advocated for the cultural sector's seat at the table in reopening and recovery conversations at city and state levels, and much more.

As we move through the coming months, our work together will be critical to the long-term sustainability of arts and culture. We are committed to continuing our programs, including:

  • Advocacy for local, state, and federal policy change to support and center artists and arts organizations of color.
  • Representation at key stakeholder meetings with public officials, philanthropy, and other centers of power on issues like reopening, reimagining the sector with a racial equity lens, and new notions of sustainability through systems change.
  • Funding Opportunities for cultural organizations, including supporting or providing equitable access to relief funding, public funding sources, and other private grant opportunities.
  • Technical Assistance, Professional Development, and Resources for COVID relief opportunities, anti-racism organizing and accountability practice, re-opening guidance, and the upcoming One State digital arts conference (also pay-what-you-can for this year!).
  • Research on the impact of COVID on the sector.
