2009 One State: Together in the ArtsOn June 1-2, 2009, 275 arts leaders and practitioners from throughout Illinois gathered in the arts-rich city of Peoria for the sixth biennial One State: Together in the Arts conference. Co-convened by Arts Alliance Illinois and the Illinois Arts Council, One State featured speakers, workshops, performances, and conversations that explored and engaged the arts and cultural community’s collective power to inspire, create, and see change in ourselves, our organizations, and our communities. Generous support for the 2009 One State: Together in the Arts conference was provided by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency; The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation; Caterpillar, Inc.; the Illinois Cultural Data Project; and the Illinois Presenters Network.
