$1.8 Million in NEA Grants on Its Way to Illinois

Joan Shigekawa, Acting Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, has announced that 37 new grant awards, totaling $1.82 million, will be delivered to arts organizations across Illinois.

The Chicago City Council unanimously approved an ordinance which will restructure the way Chicago nonprofits are charged by the city for their water usage. The ordinance amends legislation originally passed in 2011 which would have phased out fee exemptions provided to most nonprofit organizations.
